Table

We're so easily replaceable,
faster than a cable,
things aren't stable,
when you're on the other side of the table.

Apology.

A chair of your pride,
Cigars, scotch,
Football was on,
Your team won.

A jersey green,
Cheers on the scene,
A bucket of ice,
Fire flies.

I still remember my first drink,
I threw up in the sink,
You told me to be a man,
While I stared at the rotating fan.

You and I were never in sync,
Yet we were linked,
Treat him properly they said,
When my eyes start to turn red.

I was fond of nature,
I respected every creature ,
Red was my color,
I liked flowers.

I wasn't manly enough,
I didn't 'smoke-cough',
I liked to cook,
Oh, that look.

You took me to shoot,
I hurt my foot,
A chance to get closer ,
Was lost by your loser.

You hated my guts,
Boy, was I nuts,
I thought you would accept ,
Your child's so-called defect.

I did nothing wrong,
I wish mom was around,
She would help us,
This wasn't just.

Silent nights,
After our huge fight,
You told me to leave,
Due to your pet peeve.

I wrote a letter,
For the better,
I had found the one,
He was my knight and shinning sun.

You never wrote back.

Why did I expect,
I knew , I was your only regret,
I forgot about it,
That I was a misfit.

I received a call,
While I was at the mall,
My world shaken,
Something I loved was, taken.

Dressed in black,
Check,
A note in my pocket,
Mom's locket.

Stories by a few,
Mine was due,
I stood on the aisle,
I wasn't fine.

I burst into tears,
Was hugged by my dear,
My five year old held my hand,
I found a safe land.

I stepped forward,
Gazing crowd,
Waiting for me to speak,
Red cheeks.

'We had a special relation,
An unsolved equation,
We loved each other,
Do you see mother?
...
He taught me how to fight,
When things weren't right,
He taught me how to, be a man,
how to drink from a can,
...
I always did love..'

I left the stage.

All I ever wanted was a hug,
With those three words,
I guess it was too late,
Sighed fate.

A box of your favorite cassettes,
A letter mixed with those tapes,
Words for me,
My heart felt free.

An apology,
A complete eulogy.
